e-Petition against Software Patents

An e-Petition to the British Prime Minister "to make software patents clearly unenforcible" is currently gathering signatures.  Software patents are, in my opinion, a very bad idea, not least because they are a weapon with which proprietary software companies can unjustly attack open and free software developers.  You can find out a lot more at the Software Patents page at Wikipedia.

The petition can be found at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/softwarepatents/. It is a simple matter to sign it and confirm your signature, so I strongly urge you to do so.
